The taxi is not expensive and have official, standard rates in Budapest. It means every taxi company charges the equal fee: 1.100 HUF (2,8 eur) initial fee (to call and sit in the taxi, 0 km included), plus 440,- HUF (1,1 euro) per km, and 100 HUF (0,25 eur) per minute for waiting if any (when the taxi does not move). Travel and Parking in Budapest by Car
In Budapest you can leave your locked car safely anywhere on the street (in a legal parking place). However, we recommend that you do not leave your valuables in the car when parking. In Budapest, in the inner city on workdays you have to pay for parking. On workdays it is suggested to leave your car at your Hotel parking or at a parking company's place to not to run out of the parking ticket period. On-street pay parking is limited to 3 hours, when it is about to expire, at that time you have to renew it.
In Budapest you only pay for parking in the city centre and in the inner districts on workdays (e.g. from Monday till Friday, but exceptions may occur very rarely when sometimes Saturday is a workday). The pay period is from 8:00 am untill 22:00 pm (outside of the city centre untill 20:00 pm or untill 18.00 pm, more outside parking is free at any time). The pay parking zone is well controlled, and ther is a good chance that your parked car will be checked every 20-30 minutes by an official parking controller. If you do not have a valid parking ticket, you will be fined. Parking is free on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
Please take care, that there is a paying parking area around the Marathon venue on Friday until 22:00 pm, and on Monday from 8:00 am. Parking is free in Budapest on Saturdays and Sundays. See more information on parking areas, periods and conditions, as well as how to start and stop parking:

Local Currency: Hungarian Forint (HUF) - exchange tips
The local currency in Hungary is the Hungarian Forint (HUF). 1 euro is approximately 400 - 420 HUF. All maior type of credit cards are widely accepted in the shops. If you need HUF banknotes, the best rates to change are at the small exchange offices located evrywhere in the city. Euro banknotes are accepted at many shops too, but sometimes they change at not so good rates. Do not change euro or other currency to forint at the Airport, or at Train Stations, there are very poor rates, so avoid change there. Also Hotels and some Banks have not so good rates, so it is better to check prior their rates.
